Learnt a lesson

I don’t where to start to talk about what happened.

Recently, I decided to reopen my spree website, I want to earn more money for my new house renovation, although spree don’t really let me earn that much due to the stiff competition. I still want to do my part for my new house. The joint account between Kk and me is now solely contribute by Kk only. I do feel a bit ashamed about my spending habits. But I know since I can’t changed them, I can only increase the money supply. I also venture into a new blogshop selling in stock items which I am busy preparing for it.

What seems like a risk free business is also risky. When I started doing spree, I have one customer who refuse to pay for the shipping and rather give me the spree item that she bought. I didn’t suffer much lose then. But this time round, I guess I was being too kind and naive to her. I shall name her as A (No naming of her until I final she won’t be paying me back). She said she is doing plus size preorder and she would like to order from me for long term basis. Being in business, I need long term customers so I really put in a lot of effort to guide her through the ordering. I was having my exams then but I still replied her regularly. She then assured me she will order from me and I trusted her since we were both from Yishun. She mentioned that she had yet to receive money from 2 of her customers, I said so long she transferred within this few days, I will accept her order.

I went on to place her order and even paid for them. You may wondered why I did that? I was going on overseas business trip last Monday to Wednesday and in order to expedite the shipping process to my agent’s place as she wanted the item to be in within 2 weeks. All I did for her, I chase the seller for her items and it was here 2 days before labour day. I decided to massage her because first she wanted the stuff earlier and second my agent make a mistake when ordering. I was asking if she could accept if not I am going to ask agent refund for its mistake. She did not reply from then on.

I will be giving her up to next Monday to reply me. If not I am going to report her to police, I may or may not win this case but I want the police station to have a record of her misdeed. I am not an unreasonable person, if she could just tell me what problem she is facing, I might help her if possible. I am someone who believe is win-win situation, taking legal action is my last resort.

PS: The lady contacted me as she had urgent matters to go to Malaysia and her phone spoil when she was in Malaysia which lead her to be unable to contact me.

Thoughts on SMRT strike

Have been wanting to blog about it since Monday, but my father-in-law is in Singapore this few days so I have been busy bring him around Singapore. Anyway, let’s go back to this topic.

I am not sure anyone in Singapore do not know this. SMRT Service Leader (driver) went on strike on Monday!! Seriously, anyone in Singapore who had the right mind shouldn’t have done it because

Strikes are illegal for “essential services” unless they give the employer 14 days of notice of the intent to go on strike

Singapore haven’t been any strike since 1986 and I guess this time the strike really caught the union by surprise . Honestly, they had been too complacent. It is quite a taboo to talk about political things in Singapore. I am one of the rare people that actually have my own set of thinking with regards to politics. I do think PAP is doing a good job managing Singapore and making Singapore attractive to other country in terms of business and finance. But it really do fail in terms of making Singaporean’s life better.

In Singapore, the inflation rate is usually higher than the increment of our pay. If you don’t know what it means, I shall explain in layman terms. If the yearly inflation is 5%, your increment of more than 5% to have increment. Any lesser means a reduction in your pay. There are many people out there getting 3% increment and not knowing that it is actually a kind of paycut in disguise. This is the main reason why people change job often, if the working environment is good, no people will like to job hop. (I know there are exceptions, some people just like to job hop)

I find it ridiculous that China driver demand to get the same pay as the Malaysian or even Singaporean in the future. Many people might not know but workers also have different pay based on their nationality. Guess what? China worker get the most pay!! China worker starting pay is around S$22 per day and the poor Indian worker is getting around S$18 per day. See the difference? So does it means that the Indian workers should also demand the same pay as the China worker since they are doing the same things.

Seriously, I do believe they want to step over the Malaysian position in Singapore’s workforce. I strongly agree that their pay should not be more than Malaysian. The reason is just simple, Malaysian is paying their own accommodation in Singapore. The housing in Singapore is very high, even fore a Singaporean like me. Even if the Malaysian did not stay in Singapore, imagine the time they spend travelling to and fro? Don’t they deserve some kind of money compensation?

I am not against any foreigner working in Singapore but if the foreigner wants equality. I will voice out how unfair these China people are. They are just plain selfish and fighting for only their rights. To me, since the company is providing them accommodation  I think they shouldn’t complain. See how the Indian have been living here? When you are in Rome, you do what the Romans do. I do think believe that the environment should change for them but they should change for the environment to contribute to Singapore’s economic since they decided to come here.

PS: I seriously think that the ones who started the strike should be prosecuted.

Bad Neighbours

Still remember the bad Joo Chiat Neighbour?? See the below footage if u have forget about them.

Why do I show you this? Because I smell an upcoming bad neighbour. I saw the letter below from Daniel Ong to his neighbour.

Firstly when I look at the letter, I really think Daniel is messing with the wrong person. Secondly, I know things aren’t this simple. The way the letter was written looks like he is under a lot of stress and he did make some language here and there. I think as a DJ, his language should be fantastic so this letter is more like a casual complaint letter to his neighbour and hoping they can have a bit of empathy to what is is going through. Also he is just trying to add some humor to his complain letter where his neighbour took it personal.

Due to my background in the construction industry, I understand more rules and regulation when it comes to doing construction/rebuilding. Though I believe that it is not possible to drill/hack every single day, but I guess the timing they worked really interrupted Daniel’s normal life.

Great. I can have my popcorn and see good show. No doubt I think Daniel is childish in the way of expressing his frustration to his neighbour, the neighbour’s reply is even more childish. I would say in this situation, instead of replying in letter form and making this whole incident big, he should just sit down with Daniel and applogised or work things out instead of being aggressive right? But then what I always think is these rich people will NEVER admit their mistake. I mean since you are doing construction, isn’t it better if you can drop your neighbours a friendly mail to tell them you are doing a re-construction?

There are many ways to solving a problem and refusal to admit mistake and be proud is always the worst way to solving problems. Let me tell u what Daniel should have done before writing the letter. Firstly, if they start noisy work before 9am, just call NEA at 1800-CALL-NEA (1800 1155 632) esp when he tried to talk to the contractor a few times. Secondly, if the noise disturb normal life it most likely means the decibel is in the unacceptable range and you can also get NEA people to come down to confirm the noise decibel. If it is exceeding the limit, NEA will issue fine to the contractor. Trust me, most contractor will be good after getting fine.

I saw this SGAG and I find it really funny.

My neighbour of my current rented house will chomp something daily but she does it like maybe for 15 min so I usually don’t find it a problem for me.

Cooking curry is a problem is my parent’s place. My mum dislike the smell on clothing but she will just refrain from hanging his clothes outside during the time she know they will be cooking curry. Just an extra mile and problems can be solved.

Karaoke is not okay for me but my neighbour will only sing during that certain hours on a weekend afternoon which I will usually go out. I haven’t have Mahjong crisis yet. *touchwood*

As for the recent Malay wedding, it is not so much of a problem to me. I mean chinese also have our furneral at void decks too. I am always quite understanding to this. I will just on aircon and the noise get much smaller and just listen to music with ear piece and no more noise pollution. Joss paper is quite okay with me because nowadays they have designated place for you to burn or if we burn outside our house, we will buy those with caps so the burned paper will not create too much mess.

Renovation is a problem but usually hacking will not take more than 1 week. I think the scary thing beside renovation is lift upgrading because they are drilling and hacking for 3 months!! At least this is what I experienced in my parent’s place life upgrading. But as contractor, they played around with the rules. I actually wanted to really complain but my parents always say they dun want trouble so I kept quiet. The problem then was they are hacking early in the morning and stop all the hacking and drilling in the afternoon. I wanted them to do it in the afternoon instead because 9pm is just not justified especially on a Saturday morning. :(

So Singaporean be more accommodating and enduring to others, always think how and what you are doing will cause problems and trouble for others. That’s how my dad taught me though it is hard and many don’t practice it. I always try my best not to be hard on others but sometimes… You know… Hahaha… I think we Singaporean getting less patient with not only others but also people near us. Maybe is the stress but sometimes it is just us being hard on others.

Sorry for such a long ass blog entry. Idea just come and I just blogged.

What’s wrong with this video?

I was uploading my Vanity Trove for August 2012 and I saw a horrifying thing. Why my video got dislike? I mean I always thought my traffic will almost zero because seriously, I don’t do video often and most of my video is for review or for the previous Vichy Contest. I am feeling kinda of upset now that people unlike my video. :(

Why no tell me the reason or at least comment something so I can improve on it.

I guess the first video might be disliked by people who think I am showing off. As for the second video, it may be dislike by people who hate my face. That’s also weird because it did not like my other video wor… As for the third one, I didn’t even talk. So did my hand offend 7 out of 11 people?!? The serum is really great and I don’t know why 7 people hated it. It just happens to also be my top view video with 978 views.

So does it means the more the people watching, the more dislike I get? Then what about likes? I still don’t understand why that video attract so much dislike.

Stressed

I should be studing for my mid term later but i am using a bit of toilet break to blog out. Blogging is my form of destressing.  I am getting married next month.  To be exactly, i am getting married in 19 day’s time. Guess what? I had my worst day yesterday!!

I broke down on the reception desk and cried for the whole 15 minutes before the guy ask his superior. He was initially very firm in not giving me a chance but i did have vaild reasons. Honestly, i did not have to get married so early. Kk’s granny pass away so i have to follow the customs to get married within 100 days and this is when everything went haywire.

I am confident to prepare my wedding if i had the America time. But the fact is i dun have. I had to work, study and prepare for mid term. I had to fit the planning of my wedding in the minimum free time that is left. I really think Kk hasn’t been a great help to me at all. I dun like his excuse that he is unfamiliar of the customs here. I mean can’t he do some homework online, i also do not know the customs and i google it out. He can’t be busier then me right? He is only working. Yes, i am bitter that he land me into this shit and why can’t we just ROM?

My mum is also another problematic one. She can always get me agitated with her rubbish. Yes, i know she is my mum but recently she is really causing me lots of trouble. I really do not want to upset her with the customs but she always give me suprises to what she want. I mean shouldn’t her decide on what she want? She will always say up to us but the fact is SHE WANTS THEM‼

The only person that is helpful is my dad. He is aleays talking to my mum. He is alwats the one “forcing” my mum to make decisions. He even tell me that i could have his room till my wedding just bec i joking say that he did not keep his promise to let me have my own room after my O level. Honestly, i have given up hope to get my own room after poly so whether or not i get is just like a bonus to me. But I am stilll touched and appreciated hia action esp feeling so helpless yesterday. I did told him what happen yesterday just now but i avoid my crying part. 

After ranting do much, still have to say i love my mum very much but really hope she can be more “随便”
to make my life better bec this is the most stressful time of my life.

Special thanks to all my friends and my twitter friends for the support. I did not rant so much at my facebook bec of some reasons, i really appreciated those who give me the jia yous at a time like this and i am fine now. Not to forget the Singapore ROM for giving me an exception bec i know even if with the vaild reasons, it is still subjected to their considerations. Thanks for making my wedding perfect.
